Yes: 'Siberian Khatru'
Yes' bassist Chris Squire's deep Rickenbacker growl dominates this tune. This sound became the defining tone for many progressive rock groups throughout the Seventies. American bassists and rock groups in general were derivative of blues, but English progressive rock came from a different set of influences. I've always noted that English prog bassists played the bass more like a guitar, many of them using a plectrum, compared to American rockers who tended to follow the role established by the upright bass in jazz, blues, and early rock. The attack and tone, as well as the prominence of the bass as a front-and-center voice in the band was unique for the time.
